
A homicide shocked residents of 2ª Travessa Santo Antônio, in the João Viana neighborhood, in Caxias, on the afternoon of this Tuesday (19). The victim, Alexandre Dias da Silva, 27 years old, was hit by several shots fired by two men who were on a motorcycle.
According to initial reports, the crime occurred around 1 p.m. Alexandre succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene. Military police arrived quickly, cordoning off the area to ensure the preservation of evidence until forensic experts arrived.
The body was found near a hoe and some food, suggesting the victim was working informally in the area. Family members told police that, although they live in the Itapecuruzinho neighborhood, Alexandre was homeless.
The Civil Police, together with experts from the Legal Medical Institute (IML), carried out an examination at the scene and arranged for the body to be removed for detailed examination.
An investigation has been opened to determine the full circumstances of the crime. To date, no arrests have been made, and investigations are ongoing, including witness statements, with the aim of identifying those responsible and the motive for the homicide.
